Dance Academy (Ages 14-19)

The Dance Academy is a rigorous pre-professional ballet year-round training program that both honors the great traditions of classical ballet and embraces the new and contemporary. The Dance Academy curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers as dancers, focusing on classical ballet while providing instruction in other styles. By exposing students to choreographic masterworks with coaching by faculty who themselves are leaders in the field, the Dance Academy gives its students the tools they need to find a new richness in their dancing and become successful artists. Located in downtown Los Angeles, the campus neighbors Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Broad.

Full Time Training (ages 11-19)

With nearly a century of experience and competence, the Royal Ballet School (RBS) is a leading provider of classical ballet training. RBS provides full-time vocational training, part-time pre-vocational training through our Associate Program, intensive courses in-person and on-demand, and recreational training through our Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme. The training programs provide the highest level of classical ballet instruction. The School is devoted to a continual improvement process that protects students’ health, happiness, and well-being, with the student at the center of everything.

Creative Dance (Ages 3-5), Pre Ballet (Ages 6-7), Level 1 (Ages 8-11), Pre-Professional (Ages 12-18)

San Francisco Ballet School offers a challenging curriculum taught by faculty members recruited from the ranks of the SF Ballet and other companies worldwide. The School benefits from its close ties with the company and is an essential component of the organization. Over 70% of the Company’s dancers attended SF Ballet School. SF Ballet offers excellent classical technique, a fluidity of movement, and athleticism that conveys a sense of vitality, freedom, and joy. This style, which mirrors the form of dancing preferred by the San Francisco Ballet, can be tailored to match the needs of any choreographer, company, or movement style.

Little Dancers (Ages 4-6), Intermediate & Advanced (6-18)

The School of American Ballet is widely recognized as America’s premier ballet school. It is the official academy of New York City Ballet, training almost all of the company’s dancers as well as dancers from other companies around the world, and is world-renowned for the excellence of its classical training, as established by the School’s founders, the legendary teacher and choreographer George Balanchine and the visionary arts patron and writer Lincoln Kirstein. SAB trains talented dancers from diverse backgrounds for professional careers in ballet while enriching the life of every student.

Pre-professional division (ages 14 and up)

Miami City Ballet School’s Pre-Professional Division trains students to be versatile 21st-century dancers with the necessary technique, artistry, and physical strength to perform ballets in the Balanchine repertory as well as other choreographic styles. The School’s renowned faculty, established syllabus and range of performance opportunities prepares students to join Miami City Ballet as well as other preeminent dance companies around the world.
