BALLET SCHOOLS

Nurturing The Next Generation Of Dancers

Ballet schools play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of dancers and shaping the future of ballet. Aspiring dancers must undergo rigorous training, dedication, and determination. Admission to ballet schools typically requires an audition process, where dancers are evaluated on their physical capabilities, technical proficiency, musicality, and artistic potential. Once accepted, students undergo intensive training, often consisting of daily ballet classes, pointe work, variations, pas de deux, and conditioning.

COLBURN DANCE ACADEMY

The Dance Academy is a rigorous pre-professional ballet year-round training program that both honors the great traditions of classical ballet and embraces the new and contemporary. The Dance Academy curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers as dancers, focusing on classical ballet while providing instruction in other styles. By exposing students to choreographic masterworks with coaching by faculty who themselves are leaders in the field, the Dance Academy gives its students the tools they need to find a new richness in their dancing and become successful artists. Located in downtown Los Angeles, the campus neighbors Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Broad.
