Alexei Ratmansky

Born: St. Petersberg, Russia

Alexei Osipovich Ratmansky is a Ukrainian-American choreographer and former ballet dancer. From 2004 to 2008 he was the director of the Moscow Bolshoi Ballet before leaving Russia in 2008. He has made pieces for American Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet and New York City Ballet.

Lauren Lovette

Lauren Lovette’s choreography is marked by its dynamic energy and inventive storytelling, blending classical technique with a modern sensibility. She has worked with New York City Ballet, Vail Dance Festival, and the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

George Balanchine

Born: Saint Petersberg, Russia

George Balanchine was an American ballet choreographer recognized as one of the most influential choreographers of the 20th-century. Styled as the father of American ballet, he co-founded the New York City Ballet and remained its artistic director for more than 35 years.Â

Michael Montgomery

Born: Long Beach, California

Michael Montgomery’s choreography captivates with its fusion of athleticism and emotional depth, pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance. He dances and choreographs with Alonzo King LINES Ballet.

WAYNE MC GREGOR

Born: Stockport, England

Wayne McGregor CBE is a multi award winning British choreographer and director, internationally renowned for trailblazing innovations in performance that have radically redefined dance in the modern era. Driven by an insatiable curiosity about movement and its creative potentials, his experiments have led him into collaborative dialogue with an array of artistic forms, scientific disciplines, and technological interventions.Â

Serge Lifar

Born: Kyiv, Ukraine

Serge Lifarwas a Ukrainian dancer and choreographer.  Believing that dance can exist outside of music, Lifar implemented radical approaches, unprecedented reforms, and revolutionary choreography that would come to redefine neoclassical ballet and even the world of ballet itself.

Justin Peck is an American choreographer, director, and dancer associated with New York City Ballet, of which he was appointed Resident Choreographer in July 2014. He has worked on Broadway and earned a Tony and in Hollywood with Steven Speilberg and Bradley Cooper.

JEROME ROBBINS

Born: New York, New York

ÂJerome Robbins was an American dancer, choreographer, film director, theatre director and producer who worked in classical ballet, on stage, film, and television.Robbins was known for his skillful use of contemporary American themes in his work.  He won acclaim for highly innovative ballets structured within the traditional framework of classical danceÂmovements.

Jessica Lang

Born: Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Jessica Lang is an American director and choreographer based in New York City.  A celebrated choreographer, Lang works and teaches throughout the world and was recently named resident choreographer of Pacific Northwest Ballet.

MTHUTHUZELI NOVEMBER

Born: Cape Town, South Africa

In 2018, Mthuthuzeli created a solo for Precious Adams of English National Ballet. He has also worked on projects with The Chemical Brothers, Sanlam and recently danced and choreographed for British artist Stormzy, headlining the 2019 Glastonbury Festival.  He has been recognized with a Lawrence Olivier Award and a Black British Theatre Award,  both for Best Dance Production.
