Pre-Primary ballet (ages 3 and up) through Teen Ballet (ages 11-18)

Westside School of Ballet is Los Angeles’ oldest and most successful public ballet school, founded in 1967 by New York City Ballet’s Yvonne Mounsey, and co-founder Rosemary Valaire, Royal Ballet soloist. WSB distinguishes itself as a non-audition school, offering the highest and most refined pre-professional training. While the program is designed with the serious ballet student in mind, WSB welcomes all students ages 3-18 who wish to pursue the study of dance in an inspiring, enriched learning environment.

Minnesota Dance Theatre

MDT&S Young Children’s Division (ages 4 to 11) and The Performing Arts Division (ages 8 to 18)

MDT offers classes for all levels of ability, open to a range of ages, from preschool to adult. Central to our purpose is inspiring and challenging students to achieve their best.Students in the MDT school are nurtured to reach their potential for artistry and self-confidence. Our dedicated faculty provides expert guidance for the student to grow both technically and artistically, not only to become a professional dancer, but also to cultivate the focus and self-discipline required for success in all areas of life.

Training begins in the children’s division at age 3 and can continue through the pre professional program to 19.

Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, founded in 1955 by Marcia Dale Weary, is known throughout the world for providing the finest in classical ballet training. CPYB’s exceptional faculty, individual attention, and nurturing environment train not just the dancer, but the whole person.

Ballet Center of Houston offers a broad curriculum, starting with beginner classes for those who want to try ballet to advanced training for pre-professionals. We offer top quality training in a way that encourages optimal development in a caring family-friendly environment. Our teachers all have professional backgrounds and are passionate about teaching and sharing their love of dance with our students.

The Charlotte School of Ballet was founded in 1968 by Gay Porter and was the first classical studio in Charlotte, NC. The studio has provided a successful pre-professional training program that has prepared many dancers for careers in the most elite ballet companies. The Charlotte School of Ballet’s training creates strong dancers with clean technique that is adaptable to any style of dance. Students are encouraged to study not only ballet, but modern, jazz, tap and hip hop, in order to meet the demands required of dancers today.

Beginning (Ages 4-6), Intermediate (7-13) & Advanced (14-19)

Led by Artist Director, Janie Taylor, former principal dancer at NYCB, Colburn’s TZDI dance students participate in specific and rigorous progressive learning programs in ballet, tap, and modern dance that are designed to develop their artistry and technical skill. All students are required to audition for admission. For those invited for admittance, we ask them to attend at a level appropriate for their abilities and age. Colburn honors and extend the great traditions of ballet by forming students of all ages as collaborative agents who will take the art of dance forward. Located in downtown Los Angeles, the campus neighbors Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Broad.
